User's notes

Obviously just emerging. So the colour may be due to that. Or it maybe that this was an albino. Alternatively it might just be something a bit weird.

Not a cicada, eye shape not right and hind leg too long

I have just added another photo ... shows the pupal case and is a side on view.

I'm thinking it could be a leaf hopper or tree hopper looking at that eye shape?

Leaf hoppers seem to be pretty small. This was not. So over 25 mm long. Presumably more likely a plant hopper just based on size. The wings were sitting flat rather than vertically as on some of the hoppers.

I have to admit as I'm not familiar enough with leaf hoppers, tree hoppers and plant hoppers, my brain just calls them all leaf or tree hoppers. ;-)
